About this development/site: Grove Village is a housing Private Finance Initiative (PFI) which is successfully transforming a run down, inner-city housing estate in Manchester into a sustainable, mixed tenure, well-managed urban village - a place where people are now choosing to live.
The first housing PFI project to reach contract signing, Grove
Village Limited is the consortium delivering the scheme for
Manchester City Council. Partners include: Harvest Housing
Group, MJ Gleeson Group & Nationwide Building
Society, now know as the 'Fern Consortium'
What we do: Powerminster Gleeson Services, as part of the consortium, were employed to provide installation and refurbishment services on the new and existing properties within the scheme, including:
- Kitchen Installations
- Central Heating
- Bathrooms
- Disabled Adaptations
- Decoration
- New Doors
Recognition:
Grove received the Building Awards 2008 award for PFI/PPP Project of the Year. The award recognised the work of the SPV, which included Gleeson, in creating a sustainable mixed tenure urban village of "high quality homes that improved quality of life, safety and sense of community".
